Large institutions like universities, hospitals, major employers, and faith-based organizations can have an outsized impact on the prosperity of their local communities and residents. Once established, they tend to remain in the same location for decades, and are thus often referred to as “anchor institutions.” Many wield tremendous social and economic influence and are exploring pathways to leverage Opportunity Zones to benefit their communities and further their missions.
Join the Economic Innovation Group’s (EIG) webinar on Wednesday, October 30th at 2:00 pm ET to learn about how various types of anchor institutions are engaging with local Opportunity Zones strategies and the intended impact they hope to achieve. EIG will highlight examples of early transactions and engagement from across the nation, as well as offer additional models for consideration.
UPDATED DATE: Join us October 30th from 2:00pm – 3:00pm ET.
EIG’s OZ Webinar Series: This webinar is the sixth in a series EIG will host throughout 2019. These webinars address a variety of topics related to Opportunity Zones implementation, showcase best practices from around the country, and serve as a resource for investors, project sponsors, entrepreneurs, and community developers looking to use the incentive. So far, EIG has covered an introduction to Opportunity Zones, an analysis of the April 2019 round of regulations, community best practices in heartland, rural, and tribal communities, and an overview of Opportunity Zones investments in operating businesses.
