Join the Economic Innovation Group on Tuesday, October 19, to learn about Opportunity Zones (OZ) initiatives that are intentionally designed to improve social, economic, and health outcomes for underserved Black and Latinx residents.

The vast majority of census tracts designated as OZs lack critical infrastructure and resources, and such conditions can dramatically affect residents’ academic success, lifetime earnings, and health outcomes. For example, the average OZ has a poverty rate nearly double the national average, and residents have a reduced life expectancy of four years. In the handful of OZs that are not severely distressed, prosperity is often hindered for Black and Latinx residents who do not have equal access to opportunities and public amenities in their community.

During this webinar, guest speakers will discuss the ways in which their OZ initiatives are designed to serve Black and Latinx communities and residents. They will also share details on the positive outcomes they hope to achieve, and insights on how to support or launch similar efforts.
