A recently released EIG analysis examines findings from two studies of the latest data on Opportunity Zones investment, which provide the most comprehensive insights yet on the early impacts of the OZ incentive. The data show that in the first two and half years since the designation of zones, OZ investment has catalyzed new development activity and generated positive economic spillovers in low-income, high-poverty communities nationwide.
EIG’s Kenan Fikri will provide an overview of findings from the latest research. Jack Tiebout from Colorado’s Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) will share insights into state-led efforts to encourage geographically diverse OZ activity, and Nina Tschinkel from Catalyst Opportunity Funds will highlight impact investment strategies aimed at supporting community revitalization and unlocking greater housing affordability in OZ communities.
