Event Overview
Leaders from both parties agree that new economic solutions are needed, and it’s time to hear from the candidates running to be the next President of the United States on how they would tackle some of the most challenging public policy issues of our time. That’s why EIG co-sponsored the Kemp Forum on Expanding Opportunity in Columbia, South Carolina. This was the first presidential forum to focus exclusively on economic policy solutions to combat poverty and grow opportunity where it’s needed most.
Six GOP candidates discussed their ideas for expanding opportunity in America. The forum will be moderated by Speaker Paul Ryan and Senator Tim Scott. Florida Governor Jeb Bush, retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, business leader Carly Fiorina, Governor Mike Huckabee, Ohio Governor John Kasich, and Florida Senator Marco Rubio will participate in the forum.
The event was sponsored by Jack Kemp Foundation, Opportunity Lives, the American Enterprise Institute, and the Economic Innovation Group.
